the Context

A tired and modest interwar period home on a 1200 square meter block with good northern access. The neighbouring yards contained a mix of both beautiful mature trees but also some large potentially obtrusive two-storey masses.

the Clients' Needs

Create an enduring family home for years to come - intimate and warm and at the same time modern with a minimalist aesthetic. Fill with lots of 'glorious' light and set in a big garden with a sense of expansiveness. Focus on materials – timber, stone/masonry, using Japanese and some Feng Shui design
