the Context

A 1870s Georgian heritage home set in a unique location in Melbourne’s oldest suburb Fitzroy. Turned into small apartments in the 1950s, it was a very run-down home when purchased by the clients.

the Clients' Needs

Create a simple, generous and light-filled contemporary home that complements the old (including some of the 1950s and 1970s)  with the new. Bring the heritage grade one St Mark’s Church Precinct ‘through-out’ the home as well as maximising the northern light and warmth.
